Why Certifications Methods?

WHY BOTHER?

Slow down, stop Cramming!
Speaking from 30 years of experience with certification studies and testing, I see how it has effected and directed my life. I'd like you to approach certifications as something you are doing to better yourself and forget about money and career opportunities.

The commercial marketing driving force of certifications is finding a new or better job, but I want you to reconsider if this is your reason. Think about your personal development and deepest interest with technology.
Is it
programming
system administration
data analytics
ethical hacking and cybersecurity
networking
pc repair

... maybe something else? My advice, do not grab the latest fad or top marketed certification. Study and test to feel better about yourself.

Institutional technology certifications can be important for personal development because they provide a structured and standardized way to learn and demonstrate proficiency in a particular technology or skill. This can help individuals improve their knowledge and skills, which can have a positive impact on their personal and professional lives.

Having a certification can demonstrate a commitment to learning and professional development, which can be a valuable trait in any field. Additionally, it can provide a sense of accomplishment and boost confidence in one's abilities.

Put your trust in certification institutions and their layout of learning. Approach your learning process as you would a college class and pace yourself to fully grasp the concepts and exercises. You will miss a great deal of growth if you approach the testing as cramming for an exam when you missed over half of the course classes.

HOW PEOPLE RECOGNIZE YOU
In general, having certification titles after your name can positively impact the way the public views you, as it indicates a level of expertise and professionalism in a particular field. It can help establish credibility and trust, especially if the certification is well-known and respected within the industry.

Ultimately, while certification titles can be beneficial, it's important to remember that they are just one factor in how the public perceives you. Your skills, experience, and reputation in your industry will also play a significant role in how people view you.

For Example ...

Linux Hobbyist, Linux Enthusiast, Linux "Not Serious Career" descriptions are often used to describe interest in the Linux world.

Darian Ross
I love Linux 🤟

This signature above doesn't really say much about my experience or knowledge of Linux, but it does say I have some experience, funny enough it could mean I just like to install different distributions and play with their GUI.

Darian Ross
CompTIA Linux+
LPIC-3
Certifications in a signatures or profile say I took steps to prove my knowledge. Getting deeper knowledge isn't for bragging rights, but simply showing to others and yourself Linux is important to you.

It's important to familiarize yourself with the exam structure so you know what to expect on test day.
Review the exam objectives: LPI exams are designed to test your knowledge and skills in specific areas related to Linux system administration. You can find detailed exam objectives on the LPI website, which can help you focus your studies on the topics that will be covered on the exam.
